A funny thing

A funny thing about time is there isn’t really any time.

Sure we all have lives and time passes, but what is time?  What does it actually measure?  Where does all the used up time go and when will it run out?  Is time defined by what we measure it in, from our perspective on this planet at this end of the universe?  But in an infinite universe, which is not shaped in a linear path in two dimensions, how does time reshape itself from another point so far distant from us that it is beyond calculation?

Well, this planet is long since gone, which is unfortunate.  It had some really beautiful things, but it was going to happen sooner or later.  Which is what makes time such an impressive idea.  All over the universe, over and over again the same thing happens.  Not just here, but everywhere there is life, they measure time.  Ultimately time, after a while, becomes a way of keeping track of how many days one has lived and a good educated guess as to how long till they die.  And, of course, everyone does.  Of course it all ends.  Sooner or later, it just does, sometimes with warning, mostly without, but always spectacularly, and always in a way no one quite saw coming.  And that is truly a funny thing.
